Canucks were missing three out of their top four d men, a couple of regular forwards and their no.1 goalchie. They've been gutting out wins playing a team game.

First of all Bergeron is a (frank)ing beast, I know everyone thinks he's a great player these days, but I still question if most fans just realize how valuable/effective he is in all facets of the game. Just a stud.

Secondly, Eddie Lack

And third...

Scrub has 7 Goals, 3 Assists, 10 Points, 19 Hits in his last 10 games.

At the expense of vrbata, who has just 1 goal, 1 assist, 1 hit, and -4 in his last 6.

Not shocking.

It's the Sedin effect, Canucks have a first line and 3 "other" lines basically.

Vrbata's still having a damn good year though, selected as an all-star and been great on the PP. 6 games is also a pretty small sample size, even the elite scorers will have stretches like that.

Nice win with Bieksa, Edler, Tanev, Richardson and Burrows all out.

Credit where it is due..... Vrbata was taken off the top line to try to bring up the games of Higgins. Burrows was the replacement. Once Injured, Kanuckle-head Kassian made the best of it.

Besides.......... look at the injurys........

Brad Richardson ------- Centre, Defensive zone faceoffs
Kevin Bieksa -------------Top 4 D
Frank Corrado -----------Utility replacement on D, could soon be perminant
Alexander Edler ---------Top 4 D
Christopher Tanev ----- Top 4 D
Alex Burrows................ First line winger, finger biter, piss in Lucic cornflakes
Ryan Miller.................... Starting Goalie

I thin Kassian is making his statement.... but it is not at the sake of Vrbata.

Notice how the Canucks always shoot for the empty net now. I was listening to one of the canucks who said that in the last few years, 60% of the shots went in.... AV never wanted shots, he wanted time killed. Torts just dribbled in the corner and sometimes looks up to see if there was a Churro stand.

frustrating game. Lack was solid, but they hit him in the chest a million times. I thought the reffing was awful, but with the finish they had, it didn't matter.
Was surprised at how good the soderberg line looked with pialle on it.

remember the good ol' days when they would play bad and still find a way to win? Now playing well and not getting a point... sigh......

Florida did just get rid of some depth unloading Bergenheim. So that's a plus

At some point it's time to recognize the issue isn't magnificent performances by opposing goaltenders.

For the 27th time this season the B's have managed two goals or less a game.

Even if this team makes the playoffs they will not likely escape out of the first round. Better PC identify the core he wants for next season and start selling.

"...the Boston Bruins took their frustrations out on the puck to the tune of 41 shots thrown at the Vancouver net. Unfortunately for Boston, all but one of those shots found its way by Canucks goaltender Eddie Lack, as the Canucks downed the B’s by a 2-1 final."

Your wording would indicate that Boston scored 40 goals last night...

The sad part of the statement above is: even if they had scored 40 goals it would still be less than what Tampa and the NYI have scored this season.

The 6-2 win against Chi, really gave us fans a false sense of hope.

I am disappointed as a fan to listen to Neely and insider Haggerty yesterday claim they will not use Krejci's LTIR cap relief money to bring in another player. Claiming they cannot create this situation if Krejci come's back early from injury.

Well, this sucks! Once Krejci gets back it may be too late to make a run at the playoffs. I wanted to see a bold trade now and keep Krejci out till the playoffs. At least give us fans the impresion you are trying to do something!

Its moves like that that have us in our current cap crisis (Iggys bonus). Everyone's tearing PC up for that "bold move" now because it didn't work out. Why would they make another move circumventing the cap that would drive them even deeper into cap purgatory?

Why does it create a cap crisis if you keep Krejci out till the playoffs? Bringing in a UFA.

This does not create any additional cap issues, as long as whomever they bring in is at the end of his deal.

Problem I see is the 2 Studs for the past 3-4 years on D are all in decline Chara-Seids
Could it be that they are both coming off Knee Issues..maybe, OR could be that all the physical minutes these guys have logged are catching up to them.

That's what Harvard needs to figure out.
